Abstract

Introduction: Enchondromatosis is a rare condition characterized by dyschondroplastic lesions that predominantly affect long bones. Its involvement of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses is exceptional and poorly documented. Case report: A male patient with a history of enchondromatosis is described, in whom, during the evaluation of periorbital cellulitis, a heterogeneous lesion was incidentally identified in the left nasal cavity obstructing the osteomeatal complex. Surgical resection was performed, and histopathology confirmed an osteochondroma. Discussion: Nasal and paranasal involvement in enchondromatosis is rare and may present nonspecific symptoms or as an incidental finding. Diagnostic imaging is essential for lesion characterization, and surgical resection remains the treatment of choice, given that these lesions do not respond to adjuvant therapies. Conclusion: Although enchondromatosis typically affects long bones, its nasosinusal presentation should be considered in patients with this condition to guide appropriate management.
